Major Project Idea

The project I've chosen to do is a graduation invitation for Ella Fant. I don't have to interview or take pictures of anything, the information that will be in the flier is the information for her graduation.
The project I'm doing is a flier and I'm going to use Indesign.
I chose this service because it was the easiest to me.
Im going to find information on the internet. I'm going to use google and youtube.
I don't have to transfer pictures or audio or anything.

This newspaper article is from Honolulu, Hawaii.

My favorite headline is "Father says life with girl started off well". It interests me because it's the biggest headline on the paper.

There are 5 stories on the front page.

They have big photos and are mostly all broadsheets.

-Save As - Rename your image. Make sure the image is saved as a .jpg at the highest (maximum) image quality..

-Save - you do not have to reman the image at this point. Save often and regularly.

-Adjusting Contrast - Channel RGB- moved just the brown hersheys kiss (just a little lighter)

-To Crop - Select the cropping tool and then click and drag the area you want to crop. Before you crop, you have to enter your resolution you want your image to be saved to.
      -Resolution Guidelines:
          -Yearbook = 300
          -Newspaper = 150
           -Web = 72

-To make an image Black & White
  You go to Image > Mode > Grayscale

My Favorite Cover

#10 National Geographic (June 1985)

Photographer Steve McCurry immortalized the haunted eyes of a 12-year-old refugee in a camp on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Soviet helicopters destroyed her village and family, forcing her to make a two-week trek out of the perilous mountains of Afghanistan. The photo became a National Geographic icon after it was published on the cover in June 1985. Since then, this raw, untouched image has been used on rugs and tattoos, making it one of the most widely reproduced photos in the world.

Critique

In this photo, the thing that is being communicated is the anger and hurt of the girl because the Soviet Helicopters destroyed her village. This is being communicated through the girl's facial expression. The main focus is on her face so we can see the pain in her eyes.

  My favorite song of the year if Katy Perry's "By The Grace Of God". It caught my attention because in my opinion, it's not really a type of song she'd normally sing.

We're The Millers is my favorite movie of this year. The things that attracted me to this movie were that it was funny and it wasn't boring.

 I think Malala Yousafzai is one of the most influential people of 2013. She is both brave and courageous for standing up for what she wants and believes in. She was scared, yet determined to get the education she wanted. And after all she had to go through, she finally got it.

Part 1: Best photos in 2013

This is one of my favorite pictures of the year because the lion is so cute. The lighting is good, its not over or under exposed. I think they're using the Cropping rule because there's not much in the picture but the lion.

I like this picture too because it just looks cool. There's a good amount of exposure. They used the Mergers rule but not in a bad way. Just so it looks like the man is holding the sun.

I like this picture because all of the lights are cool. They didn't need to use much lighting because the buildings provide enough.

Self Portraits & Portraits

CREATING A THEME: Two items make a photo, the subject and the backdrop, and i think that they equally important. This is where your lens choice comes into play. A long lens allows you to send the back ground out of focus and narrow down the amount of background in the photo. A wide lens keep the background in focus and allows it to be a key part of the image. Either way the background is playing a big factor by being a key element or by not distracting from the subject.

CAPTURE YOU: My last tip is to use the images below only loosely as inspiration. A self-portrait should be a very personal expression, not simply a mirror of something you've seen elsewhere. Think about who you want to be and how you want to say that. Use props, scenery, pose, and lighting conditions to convey your personality. And most of all, have fun!

1. We closely relate it to our eyes.
2. The smaller the aperture the higher the f-number. The larger the aperture the lower the f-number.
3. The size of the aperture has an effect on the depth field.

2. when there's plenty of light use the lowest ISO to have the highest image quality. if you want to use a low ISO try to always stick to the lowest one.
